Kids, Cats and Curls~

Thats what a girl I went to school with would say as a greeting.. I always thought.. how whack.. but hey it stuck right?.. LOL

This week has been a blur. So much going on at work. Ruby went to the Vet for 3 days for her spaying. Finding out another niece is pregnant {I found out reading a myspace profile of all things!}... just a whirl wind around here.

Tonight Hunter and I were doing manicure/pedicures and I know that sounds funny, but I have to convince him it is a fun luxury rather than some ancient Chinese torture... anyway.. while doing our nails we were listening to a link that Kimmy had gave us to hear snipits of songs by Kimya Dawson for kids-Alphabutt. {You may know her from the music in the movie Juno}. Anyway, Hunter fell in love... I knew he would. So I was looking around and saw a kids cd by Barenaked Ladies-Snack Time. We are sooo going to be getting these. Check them out!

Creative Weekend~

I had a mighty creative weekend. Todd was helping a friend move yesterday, so I took advantage of the quiet house {Hunter played outside all day} and I cleaned and caught up on all the laundry. I finished up my day with three layouts done and my chipboard somewhat sorted and organized.

Then today we got up, went to brunch and grocery shopped. When we got home I put the groceries away and baked a cake and then watched the movie starring Kevin Bacon- Taking Chance! While watching I worked on Sketch Challenge #43 over at Creative Scrappers by Kristine Davidson.

Here is the finished project and Im soo happy with it. Thank you for looking and well, I thought Id leave you with a photo of the cake too, just for all you sweet tooth's out there! ;o)and I couldnt help myself.. she is so stinkin' cute!!! Our lil Jadyn!

A day late and a photo short~

Well, I totally forgot to take my camera to work yesterday so I lost out on the 12 on the 12th... but I thought Id make it up today and take 13 on the 13th... but.. Im always a day late and a photo short hahaaa. I took 12 instead of 13. After the melt down photo I was feeling sorta bad and decided 12 was enough.. plus one of my photos didnt turn out. It was a photo of the new book shelf for the scrapbook room, but hey everyone has seen a 5 shelf book shelf before right? yeah so.. without further excuses.. here is my 12 of 12 on the mischievous Friday the 13th!First off a lil something I whipped up for our Friday night movie party ;) hahaMovie we watched for our movie night.. Role Models-Funny, in an adult way! ;)
Hunter having a meltdown because he would have preferred to have Ronald McDonald cook this evening. hahaaCan you tell someone in the house was home sick all day.. yeah Todd was.. We are thinking something he ate? We hope anyway!So happy to be done with invoicing at work.. you are looking at 1270 invoices that I printed, folded, stuffed and stamped...The company really is growing!We took the leap and purchased a new digital camera tonight.. Im so excited.. coming next week!My weekly chore.. balancing the checkbook.. and figuring what we have left of the income tax return!Soccer shoes.. YES, we signed Hunter up for soccer! Im so stinkin' excited!!! He is too!My self portrait.. Hunter liked the b/w one the best.. Future photog perhaps? We'll see .. haha!What is up with this weather?.. last weekend I was wearing capris.. this morning I was scraping ice off the windshield. Hopefully this is the last cold snap before spring arrives!Im super happy to have found these springy looking markers last night. They are called Paradise Pastels, acid free so Im thinking I will so be using them with my stamps and coloring the cards and stuff.
The pile of magazines I recieved this week that I still need to read... one at a time.. slowly but surely I'll get them read.. or at least the perfume samples smelled and pics seen. hahaa.

I got to scrap some last night! I had some scraps laying around and thought before I put them away Id make some cards. I made 2, it only took me an hour and half.. geez. Here is one.. I believe the sketch I followed was by Shanna Lewter, for a challenge over at CS. ...the other I cannot post here yet, as its for a friend and I dont want her to see it just yet. hehe. Anyway...I made this one for my Dad who just returned from his extended vacation in AZ. The inside is a story about vacations. My room is almost organized enough to where I feel like scrapping actual layouts. I have 3 or 4 sketches Id love to hit this weekend. And plan to.

Misc. Musings~

I havent been around much lately. Ive been working a lot, been sicky, and just doing home stuff when I get home and trying hard to relax and not get so stressed about things all the times. A full time job all in itself! haha. Lately I have had some thoughts on things going on around me... musings as they say. And here is my say.. or thoughts if you will...

Manny Ramerez!!!!.. 45 MILLION dollar deal made for playing a game he loves. Whats wrong with this picture? Can we really blame him? How about the folks that are willing to actually pay that kind of outlandish price? No wonder the athletes feel so much pressure to perform. What a nasty mess. Im sure this is not what the game was supposed to be about {money}! This just makes me spitting mad.

Im trying really hard to understand, accept and deal with the changes this old world is going through and has went through. I was sent a retro video the other day of the things that I grew up with and the things we watched on tv... played with as kids. I sooo miss those days of staying outside til our parents begged us to come in. Where did those days go? Ugh!

On the upside of things. One of my favorite shows came back this week. Saving Grace on TNT Monday 9pm central time. I have a hard time staying up that late sometimes but hey, I am going to have to suck it up and do it. hahaa

As far as crafting. Boy have I not done a damn thing lately. Ive got the itch. I bought some stuff even... but I still havent gotten my room in order and its bugging the heck out of me. Also this upheaval over the photos being lost, not lost and now on disc, things are happening just as I suspected.. they arent. ;( I told Todd we have to get the shelves for my room this weekend so I can get back in there and start creating again. Its a void that needs to be filled and dammit, it needs to be done so soon!

Im missing my blogging/scrapping buds and have been neglecting them and for that Im sorry. I should catch up soon. I have billing all next week, but after that it will be smooth sailing til April, when all hell cuts loose again. Its my busiest month of the year usually. Its all good, keeps me on my toes! hehe :)

The weekend...... What are you up to this coming weekend? Justice is coming up and Im sure Hunter, him and Todd will be out playing soccer. We got Hunter all signed up and he starts at the end of this month. Saturday games. We need to purchase him some shin guards and shoes and he'll be set. Todd wants to get a net this weekend. Im sure he'll need a new ball too. hehee Whatever you do have fun doing it... :o)
